Eight of the residents who signed the statement were present at the Dec. 6 Board of Supervisors meeting, all wearing orange stickers on their chests to represent their concern of the bridge situation.
Two of them,Gene Botsford and Tbm Pendergast, both expressed their thanks to supervisor Bryant Lee for contacting VDOT about their concerns.
Marguerite Tuthill, a 28year-resident of Grand View Road said that her main concern is that the bridges cannot handle the tonage of the firetrucks or large trucks during snow removal this winter. “I hope something can be done before winter,” said Tuthill.
Decaying bridges
“Bridges within the county are being replaced, but they are decaying faster than we can replace them,” said Moore.
Materials have been fabricated for the construction of the Hunters Road bridge and are being sent to be galvanized so that construction can begin by
proposal for a 12-month extension on construction of the Miller Silo cell tower off Route 211 near Washington.
