Brownies
The annual Amissville food collection for needy friends and neighbors has begun. Brownies of Troop 143 have decorated collection boxes and. with their leaders, put the boxes in churches and businesses around the community.
The aim of the drive is to collect enough fixxi for 20 needy families, including a turkey and side dishes for a complete Christmas meal.
The Ruritans of Amissville began the food drive for sick, elderly and needy folks more than 30 years ago. Tbday, churches and the people at the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company join the Ruritans in sponsoring the collection.
Food collection boxes have been set up at Lombardy Restaurant. Mayhugh’s and Hackleys stores, Early’s Carpets, and the Fire Hall. , The campaign to help neighbors at this holiday time needs help.
