Girl Scout troops
The counties’ six Girl Scout troops are also contributing to help those less fortunate. “This year we decided to help the Senior Citizens The Sheriff's Office is holding their annual “Shop with a Deputy” program so we figure the children are going to be well taken care of,” says Sally Havstad. service unit manager for Rappahannock County. Also looking to give this season is the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office. There are blue flyers around the community asking for donations to the ninth annual “Shop with a Deputy” program. Once the money is collected, deputies are paired with children who have been selected for the program and taken to K-Mart in Front Royal. Upon arrival the children are given $100 to buy gifts for themselves and their family members with the help of their deputy.
