Rappahannock County library invites K-5th graders to enter their second annual “By George, It’s Washington’s Birthday Art & Writing Show.
Open to all county public, private and home schooled students, the deadline to deliver •entries is Wednesday, Feb. 16. Information forms are available at Rappahannock County Library and online at www.rappahannocklibrary.org.
The exhibit will open on George Washington’s federal holiday Feb. 21 and continue through Friday, March 18.

Day School News
During the week of January 23, the emphasis at Wakefield Country Day School, has been on Science.
On Tuesday, students in grades four through six presented their science projects at the 2005 WCDS Science Fair, i Back in the fall, each stu<Ient had been asked to choose a subject, conduct research, and then form and test a hypothesis over a three-month period. Guidance was given periodically ^during science classes, but the projects were completed entirely at home by the students.
Projects covered a wide range of topics, and included questions such as: which chickens lay the most eggs, does •music affect the heart rate, and what type of truss bridge holds the most weight? The results were placed on display in the school auditorium, and students in the upper school science
