Invitation for Bids:

“Book Barn” Rappahannock County Public Library

The Rappahannock County Library Board of Trustees is soliciting bids from persons or firms to provide all excavation, groundwork and construction of a multi-purpose "Book Bam” storage building on the grounds of the Rappahannock County Public Library in Washington, Virginia, in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by Jim Yowell, dated January 1, 2005. No prequalification is required for this contact.

The work includes the provision of all supervision, labor and materials to accomplish the construction of the project. The interior of the Book Bam will be finished by High School Building Trades classes and volunteers-DO NOT BID INTERIOR WORK including interior insulation, partitions, wall-board, paint, floor finish, wiring, HVAC, lights and switches, plumbing fixtures, grab bars, door hardware, interior trim, finish grading, seeding, landscaping and clean-up. Project is to commence as soon as possible after a Notice to Proceed which shall be issued upon award, but is to be completed not later than June 30, 2005.

All terms and conditions are outlined in a plan package available from the County Administration Office. All bids must be received at the County Administrator’s Office, Old Extension Office, 290 Gay Street, P.O. Box 519, Washington, VA 22747 by Monday, February 21, 2005, by 3:00 PM, at which time they will be opened and publicly read.

The terms of Competitive Sealed Bidding as set forth in the Virginia Public Procurement Act shall apply. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
