reserve one of the lanes on each side of Rt. 211 for Rappahannock County commuters only since we appear to believe we are more important than future Culpeper residents. It is also surprising to me that Culpeper County hasn’t required its Board to represent Rappahannock County citizen (or RLEP) interests instead of seeking guidance from its own adopted Comprehensive Plan. Perhaps in the future Rappahannock County will seek input from Culpeper County instead of looking to our own carefully developed Plan.
For a county that is as politically conservative as Rappahannock, it seems inconsistent to be so liberal in our approach to land rights, especially other people’s land rights outside our jurisdiction. We have ours and want yours too.
For those of us with children, we should acknowledge that our kids will eventually have to live and work outside Rappahannock County due to our desired land use restrictions. Perhaps we should require them to move at least 50 miles away so as not to inconvenience the rest of us.
