I am appalled at the travesty
of justice that occurred in the case of Ellis Smith (“Castleton man gets jail time in child sex case,” in the Rappahannock News, Jan. 27, 2005.).
The sentencing that Judge Jeffrey Parker gave was not in “the best interest of the child” — or future children — and isn’t that how these things are supposed to be decided.
I believe that Mr. Smith may be sorry; however, he will never be able to replace the innocence that has been taken
