A co-worker rushes a young man to Culpeper Regional Hospital. He has developed flulike symptoms in a short period of time that have now progressed to severe breathing problems. He fights nausea that intensifies to sharp abdominal pains and diarrhea. As they reach the emergency room, he begins to vomit blood.
The hospital’s staff immediately attempts to stabilize the patient and diagnose his rapidly progressing illness. Anthrax is determined to be the cause. But while this young’s man condition may be treated in the ER, there may be dozens of others that have been infected.
