March is

blowing in

With the winds blowing and the calendar telling us it is March, we would like to step back to “ground hog” month and extend to our friends, neighbors and relatives belated birthday wishes. Special days celebrated during the month of February were Steve Butler, D. J. Dodson, Phyliss Frazier, Woody Tharp, James H. Frazier, Gladys Williams, Jimmy Cubbage, Marc Dodson and Clarence N. Frazier. We are thankful that our Lord blessed each one of them with another year.

Mrs. Marvin Burke of Rochelle visited relatives and friends in our area last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Robinson and Timmy were in South Carolina last week to attend funeral services for a family member.

Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Dodson were Sunday luncheon guests with Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Dodson in Harrisonburg.

The Salem Fire Hall was the setting Friday evening for another “Singin’ and Pickin’ party” with a good attendance and different groups of musicians and singers to entertain the folks.

Lest we forget Emerson Williams of Aaron Mountain Road, Savilla Thomas and Ricky Shaw, can be added to the February birthday people.

We remind all our area fans of the Rappahannock Point To Point Races taking place on Saturday at Blue Rock, on US 211 across from the Rappahannock High School, beginning at 1 p.m. Call (540) 547-2810 for more information.

Wedding anniversary wishes go out to Jamie and Katie J. Wright of Dutch Hollow Road.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Charlie Fox, who passed away last week, his late parents were former residents here in Boston.

Congratulations go out to the young people in our area who are students at Rappahannock and made the Honor Roll in the past grading period including Jessica Shaw, Karl Thornhill, Jonathan Butler, Bethany Dodson and Lauren Light. Apologies for any missed students and keep up the good work.

Greetings to cousin Edna Denin who grows a year older today and congratulations to James and Margie Jenkins who celebrate another year together on Monday.

We ask an interest in your prayers for Pearl Creel, Hazel Delph, Rosie Wharton, Janet Peregory, Nancy Robinson, Emma Pullen, Glenn Tharp, Jr., Beatrice Sheppard, and any others our Lord lays on your heart.
