Washington residents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skowronski were recently informed that their grandson Colin Skowronski of Plano, Texas has been appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Colin, who was enjoying a full academic scholarship at Base-Western University, was nominated by Texas Senator Comyn. The nomination was made at the recommendation of the senator’s Academy Board who evaluated the records of several hundred Tfexan applicants.
They had already learned that Colin’s brother Ethan who had enjoyed a full scholarship at Holy Cross, was, upon his graduation, granted a Kill fellowship at MIT, where he is now pursuing a PhD in neuroscience. Ethan will soon have the company of his cousin Natasha Skowronski who after graduating with high honors from the Bishops School in La Jolla, California and after achieving perfect SAT scores will matriculate at MIT in September. The two will be near Natasha’s sister, Elaine Skowronski, who is currently studying chemistry at Wellesley.
