Should Sharp and Bradley meet in the state tournament, Herzog looks for an interesting match. Bradley has beaten Sharp three times, twice this season, while Sharp has defeated Bradley twice.
Raney finished third at 160 pounds. Like Allen and Sharp, this is his second straight appearance in the state tournament. Herzog pointed out that Raney stands a good chance of placing.
“If Isaac wants to go out and do it,” Herzog added. “He can do it. It doesn’t matter who you wrestle, it’s what you do when you get out on the mat.”
Two freshmen, Tyler Armor and Jeremy Diley, failed to place in the regional tournament. But Herzog offered praise to them for their efforts, as it is difficult for freshmen to qualify against upperclassmen.
