Halloween
Party was a hit!
That’s right, if you missed it, well you really missed it! The Halloween party hosted by the Chester Gap Vol. Fire and Rescue Department was a great success. There were more than the expected number of children in attendance — which was readily apparent to anyone within earshot. There were a lot of great and creative costumes and all of the children had a great time trying their luck at Qie cake walk and bobbing for apples. Eveiyone left with a goody bag and had their fill of cupcakes, chips, and soda; at least I know I did, while they were there. There was also, of course, a scariest costume contest and, well, I won’t tell you who was chosen first but needless to say the judging was a little on the biased side. I’m telling you, you just had to be there to get the full effect, I still say she should’ve won most original. Either way everyone had a great time with a lot of children • asking about next year already. * I mean, think about it folks, how . can you not like a party where one of the games involves a chance to walk away with a free cake! You just have to like that!
Apples, apples
The members have been; spending long hours first pick-' ing up and then peeling and grinding the apples all week and have really given it a great. effort from start to finish. A huge thank you is in order for Mr. Ed * Streapy of High Places Orchards, who was kind enough to allow the Fire Department to pick the apples needed for free. So come on by after you get done reading the paper and get your quart to take home, even if it didn’t taste so good the effort put into would more than make up for it.
