Should the Commonwealth allow local governments greater flexibility to exempt certain properties in conservation, redevelopment and rehabilitation areas from real estate taxes? Local governments already possess the optional legislative power to give partial exemptions from real estate taxes for “redevelopment” and “rehabilitation” areas.
So far, Rappahannock County has chosen not to exercise such authority. A “yes” vote allows for the expanded exemption; a “no” vote is a nod to the status quo.
