Wayland and Ruby Dwyer have lined the course to cheer at many home events. And the Boelte and Wayland families have always been ready with tables and tents when needed. Our bus driver for most away meets this year was Tbm Pendleton, a CC dad as well, who knew how to get to the best, and closest, restaurants after each event! It was always a boost to the team to see (and hear) RCPS Superintendent Dr. Chappell, and Mr. Mello and Mrs. Puryear, RCHS Administrators, cheering them on.
It has become a mark of Rappahannock hospitality for team parents to provide fruit snacks for all of the runners, our opponents as well as our Panther team, after each home meet. Parents have happily donated bushels of apples, bags of oranges, and untold numbers of grapes and bananas! Often treating 80 or more athletes at a single event! Thank you all.
It has been a pleasure for our family to be associated with such a positive group of students and adults for the past five years. I will always be a fan of cross country running, and strongly encourage those of you in the community who have not attended an event to plan to do so next fall. You won’t be sony, and our athletes will really appreciate your support!
