Avoiding apathy
By the time you see this newspaper again, there could be a new senator for the State of Virginia. It’s been a grueling race for the two candidates and it’s coming down to the wire. Virginia as well as several other key states are being closely watched for those precious six senatorial seats that could change across the country. The Seventh Congressional District will continue to be represented by the incumbent Republican or there could be a new face. And of local significance will be the winner of the Piedmont District Supervisor race - another hot one. After these races are over and the votes are in and counted, most likely there will be more chatter about what should have happened, didn’t happen or has now happened that will make a difference or not. Everyone is entitled to comment. However, if you didn’t go out and cast your vote for the candidate of your choice, regardless of the outcome, your opinion may not be as highly regarded as someone who did. Weigh in. Vote on November 7.
