If you happen to be at the Country Cafe on any given Wednesday morning, you may find this gentleman there. He will be the happy one in good spirits chuckling over a cup of coffee and joking with members of Rappahannock’s Breakfast Club. He may be retired but you’d never know it because this guy doesn’t allow himself much free time. He’d rather occupy himself totally in the community by giving of himself in so many different areas that it’s hard to know just where his smiling face is going to show up. While Bob Lander has earned this year’s Rappahannock News Citizen of the Year Award, Bob has been active for many years spanning many community activities. He’s been a Starfish mentor, he’s helped with the Boy Scouts, he’s a roaring member of the Rappahannock
