He succeeds Paul Jenks, who is retiring as President and CEO at thp end of 2006. Burke currently
serves as Vice President of*he Eastern Region of Veolia E$[ Solid Waste.
Michel Gourvennec, CEO of. . Veolia Environmental Services North American, touched upon the company’s future expansion goals during his announcement of the staff changes. “While we will miss Paul Jenks’ leadership and guidance, we are fortunate to have a key individual to promote from within the organization,” said Gourvennec. “Richard Burke brings a wealth of industry experience and strategic insight to his new role as president and COO. These traits will serve us,well as he takes an active approach in driving the growth of our company across North America.”
In his new position, Mr. Burke will be responsible for helping further the organization’s agenda as set forth by Gourvennec. “My objective is to drive the strategic growth of the Solid Waste division and continue to expand our North American presence in line with the goals of the entire Veolia organization,” explained Burke.
