If the Scrabble School Project is realized as Bob envisions it, it will be a legacy for him and for Rappahannock County although Bob would be the last to admit that.
He’s not out for glory. He will always attest that his tireless work involves many, which it does, but at the heart is the catalyst, the spark plug, the one driving the engine and with his pedal to the metal.
And, he does it all with great optimism and cheer.
As Jim Gannon so eloquently paid tribute to him, saying, “If I were trapped in a foxhole surrounded by enemies, Bob Lander is the one person I would want in there with me. He would give me some hope we might find a way out of danger.”
Well said, Jim, and we agree.
