corded during the Christmas/ Hanukkah/New Years season, have brought countywide easement protection to a cumulative total of 25,082 acres — or 18.4% of all private land in Rappahannock.
The first of these, recorded December 21, applies to 168 acres owned by Harris Hollow LLC. It prohibits division of the parcel into more than two pieces.
Two additional easements were recorded on December 29. One protects the 83-acre “Greenfield” property at the edge of Washington (owned by Theodore and Renate Chapman), and allows no future division; the Greenfield house qualifies for listing on both the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places. The second, granted by Jane Bachelder, protects 142 acres — including 8,717 feet of frontage on the Rappahannock River
