The Mountain Laurel Montessori Farm School is making a second attempt to move into the Flint Hill area.
School administrator Elaine Glier said the school has a ratified contract to purchase the 21-acre True Ewe Farm, owned by Steve and Kim Duty, north of Flint Hill at 767 Zachary Taylor Highway.
The transaction is pending county approval of a special exception permit, which is required of all educational institutions, regardless where they are located. The Rappahannock County Planning Commission will consider the application at its Jan. 17 meeting.
For the past three years, the farm school has operated out of the schoolhouse at Belle Meade on F.T. Valley Road, about six miles south of Sflerryville.
