paint to keep it from rusting. When it was dismantled it was reused privately on the farm, but was washed out in floods a couple of times before being scrapped.
Nothing remains of the old 1909 Sperryville Bridge except for the stub end of Water Street leading to where it was once located. No one seems to know when the bridge was dismantled; possibly it was 1982-1983. No one seems to have a photo of the bridge, but a similar one built by the York Bridge Company in 1910 still exists in Ohio.
Interestingly, before any bridge there was a ford across the river, and now with the bridge gone the ford is back in use by tractors going between the Miller farm and Water Street.
