Devin Day of Woodville was selected as the stage manager for the University of Mary Washington’s production of The Heiress.”
Day is the daughter of Hazel Zinn-Day and Kevin Day of Woodville and is a 2006 graduate of Rappahannock County High School.
A junior theatre mqjor, Day has performed in several UMW productions, including “Anton in Show Business,” “365 Days/365 Plays,” and “She Stoops to Conquer.” Additionally, she was the assistant stage manager for “Our Tovyn.”
The Heiress” is a period cliflhanger based on Henry James’ novella “Washington Square,” which tells the story of wealthy Catherine Sloper and her handsome suitor, Morris Townsend. After the two decide to marry, Catherine’s father grows suspicious oflbwnsend’s motives in regards to Catherine’s inheritance. The Heiress,” written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, won a Tbny Award in 1985 for Best Revival of a Play.
