• Virginia Gold Cup, one of the nation's largest steeplechase races, celebrates 84 years at Great Meadow, The Plains, Va. Seven hurdle and timber horse races, Jack Russell Terrier races, tent, tailgate and hat contests, and over 30 vendor booths. • Rededication of historic Scrabble School - The Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County and the Scrabble School Preservation Foundation invite the public to attend the rededication as the Scrabble School Senior Center on Saturday, 1 p.m. A program, self tour of the facility, casual conversations with Scrabble School Alumni, and refreshments will be offered.
