a Virginia resident. He was the son of the late Virgil Cornell and Edith Jepson Krebs. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Marines, and saw service in the pacific theater on the islands of Iwo-Jima, Tinian and Saipan as a radio operator. Mr, Krebs spent the immediate post war years employed by the C. A. A. in Hawaii as a telegraph operator and Transoceanic air traffic controller. In his spare time he learned to flv. He was hired bv United Airlines as a pilot in 1952 where he was employed until 1982. He retired to his Bealeton cattle farm with his wife Virginia Welch Krebs where he resided until his passing. Besides his wife. Captain Krebs leaves behind six children, Earl Krebs of-Lmroln, CA, Katherine Manizade of Salisbury, MD, Elizabet h Krebs of Glens Falls, New York, Mark Krebs of Phoenix, AZ, David Krebs of Bealeton, VA and Margaret Reed of Burlington, NJ; two sisters- Betty Wilson of Hobe Sound, FL and Gloria Herring of Independent Hill. VA; ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All mourn his passing and are thankful for his life. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA. A funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Remington, VA on Thursday, April 16 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. A reception will follow in the church pansh house.
