Scenic roads
We have four state-designated scenic roads: Crest Hill Road, Fodderstack Road, FT. Valley Road, and Zachery Taylor Highway ( Route 522) from Chester Gap to the Culpeper line.
Since at least 2001, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has shown Ben Venue Road as a Virginia Scenic Byway on its map of Virginia Scenic Roads. VDOT does not, however, confer state recognition. When the VDOT map was brought to the attention of DCR, they promised to take a look if the supervisors would ask them. John McCarthy wrote the letter; we await their decision.
