Beth OHannon of Woodville was named “Miss Rappahannock” at the Jaycee sponsored beauty pageant held Friday night. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maurice CVBannon and a senior at Rappahannock County High School. Beth received her tiara from the outgoing titleholder, Darlene Woodward of Castleton, and was presented a cash prize of $100. Hillsdale Drive-In Theatre near Washington, Va., will open for the season on Friday night. May 2. Films will be shown Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the summer, according to proprietor Mrs. Bertha Armel. Mrs. Merle Scoggin and Mrs. Roberta Anderson are among the many diligent workers in the Cancer Crusade. Crusade workers have done an excellent job in making contacts in the fund campaign and much time and effort is required for the good results which are being obtained. Mrs. Scoggin is fund chairman in Hampton District and Mrs. Anderson is co-chairman of the county campaign which is headed by Mrs. Mary van Brederode.
