A lifelong citizen of Fauquier County, he was a farmer, and extremely active in the community. He had been an active member and deacon of the Warrenton Baptist Church since 1941 He served as Chairman of the Deacon’s, Head of the Building and Grounds Committee and was a Church Trustee. He was also a former Board Member of the Fauquier County Farm Bureau where he served as President for many years. Among his other civic concerns were activities within the Warrenton Ruritan Club, the Fauquier County school system and band boosters club. He is survived by his sons Clifford Green, and his wife Soraya; Hugh Green and his wife Susie; and his daughter Nancy Dishner and her husband Charlie. He also leaves one grandson, Brian Dishner and one granddaughter, Riley Dishner. Also surviving are sisters Ruby and her husband Hugh Elsea of Roanoke; Pearl Hoffman of Roanoke; Mable and husband Dr. Bill Flemming of Birmingham. AL; and Alta Parker of Arlington, VA. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Jenny Grimm, Ann Reed and Tracey ('(Hike. Their kind and compassionate care were a comfort during the last months of his life. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11 AM at Moser Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Amissville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
