Junior Steven Nelson found himself a little in awe of his first-ever appearance on television.
“During our first match," he said, “I found myself watching the TV (monitor) at one point. And I wasn’t worried about the question, but that my hair is sort of sticking out a little bit. I was paying more attention to my hair than the question”
Nelson and fellow Rappahannock County High School Scholastic Bowl teammates - senior captain A.J. Collins and junior Tyler Crews - did focus on the questions asked by “It's Academic” long-time host Mac McGarry and finished second Saturday in the Central Virginia Tournament in Washington, D.C.
