Rappahannock resident .John Lesinski may strike one as an unlikely Democrat candidate for 15th District Delegate - he's a businessman with his own successful commercial real estate company, a former Marine colonel who served in Iraq, and a former director of the Greater Washington Board of Trade qnd the Economic Club of Washington.

But these are different times. “We are in the economic equivalent of a 100-year flood," said Lesinski, 50, in an interview Monday at his home on Grand View Avenue just outside of Washington.

As he describes the current economic situation, it’s like standing on one bank of a flooding river and needing to get to the other side, he said.
