“We need to build a bridge to get everyone across,” explained Lesinski, and that means supporting Gov. Tim Kaine’s budget which keeps teachers and public safety officers employed, and seeking ways of helping everyone safely through this economic crisis.
Lesinski announced he would be running as delegate for the 15th District - which encompasses Rappahannock, Page, Shenandoah and part of Rockingham counties - at a Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors meeting on April 6. He is running against incumbent Gilbert, a Republican, who is seeking a third term in office.
Lesinski, even in casual clothes, still dresses like a Marine - everything neat and pressed, belt buckle in line - and he has that earnestness of a successful businessman who’s discovered that making money isn’t all there is in life. He wants to do something to help, but he hasn’t quite figured out what that is yet except that perhaps it might be found by running for office.
