Lesinski and his wife Heidi, 43, moved to Rappahannock in 2007 from Fairfax. This is his first run for political office.
Heidi, he said, was not easy to win over to the idea of his running for elected office.
“He had to promise me he would work for the people of this district, that it would not be just his own ideas,” she said.
Lesinski said the support of his family is crucial to his success. His wife has gone from being skeptical to being his biggest advocate, and this summer his son, Daniel, 23, and his daughter, Emily, 20 will be joining him on the campaign trail.
