Lieutenant Colonel Samuel I. Glasker, son of Mrs. Zephyr Glasker, Woodville, is attending the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pa.
The 10-month curriculum of the Army’s senior school prepares officers of all the services, as well as civilian officials of the Federal Government, for top level command and staff positions with the armed forces throughout the world.
The students work on broad fundamental problems relating to national security affairs. Recognized leaders in their respective fields contribute to the course as lecturers, consultants and panelists.

Shop Open
“The Washington Ladies Auxiliary Thrift Shop will remain open for several more weeks, so if you are in need of good winter clothing (coats, sweaters, pants, etc.) stop by for a real bargain,” said an auxiliary member. “Also, when cleaning your closets, attics, etc., please bring. your usable items to the shop instead of throwing them away.”
The shop is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
