Senator Clive L. DuVal II of Arlington has announced that the Joint Subcommittee Studying the licensing of Nuclear Generating Facilities will hold a public hearing in Richmond on Monday, Oct. 3, at 10:15 a.m. in Senate Room 3 of the State Capitol Building.

The Subcommittee is interested in receiving public input on whether nuclear generating facilities should be licensed in this State. Of particular interest to the Subcommittee would be testimony concerning the safety, reliability and security of nuclear facilities, and any potential problems which might arise during the evacuation of areas contaminated by high levels of radioactive particles.
