If you have ever felt that some people are less affected by the heat, you’re right. Melvin V. Lubman, an assistant professor of psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, has pinpointed seven factors which contribute to a person’s inability to tolerate heat.
Disagreeable odors play a part in heat tolerance. If bothered by unpleasant odors, a person will be less tolerant of the heat.
Fatigue and lack of sleep also reduce a person’s ability to tolerate high temperature.
Worry, frustration and nervousness contribute to a person’s lack of tolerance.
