The 1977 Rappahannock All-Star Revue, a talent show on September 17 featuring the best in local talent, drew a capacity crowd for the 200 seats setup in the old schoolhoue auditorium in Washington,—and that’s not counting the many people that were busy selling baked goods, popcorn, cold drinks and other miscellaneous items, as well as those having a good time dancing in the rear of the auditorium.
The talent show was the result of a joint effort by many members of the community. Local people volunteered their time to work on lighting, sound, seats, stage properties, food, Advertising, and clean-up. The program was organized by Camille Harris, director and teacher at Sursum Corda School in Washington. All proceeds from the event went to benefit Sursum Corda School, enabling the school to buy much-needed equipment and supplies.
