A Hot Drink: HOT SPICED APPLE CIDER Mrs. George Sharp Mt. Green Orchard Washington, Va. To 1 gallon of apple cider add: 3 tablespoons honey, 12 whole cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, Vi sliced lemon. Simmer for 10 minutes. It is delicious, especially with doughnuts.
A Sweet: APPLE NUT PEE CAKE Mrs. George Sharp Mt. Green Orchard Washington, Va. V* cup sugar V* cup self rising flour 1 egg
Vi cup diced nuts
lVi cups raw diced apples
1 teaspoon vanilla
V* cup raisins
Combine all ingredients. Place in a greased pie pan. Dot with 2 tablespoons margarine. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until slightly brown. '■
SLS Notes: For the self rising flour, I substitute V* cup of; the following mixture: 1 cup : all purpose flour, 1 to 1 Vi teaspoon baking powder and Vi teaspoon salt.
