Biologists from the Virginia Electric and Power Company’s North Anna facility have announced a fish tagging program which is' now in operation at Lake Anna.
Scientists conducting thl fish tagging study are working primarily in the waste heat treatment facility of the lake. Data obtained from recaptured tagged fish will furnish valuable information on the movement and growth of Lake Anna fishes.
In order for this type of fish sampling technique to work, biologists need the cooperation of anglers fishing the area. Fishermen should look at the base of the dorsal fin on any fish they catch for a colored and numbered tag.
If you catch a tagged fish, the VEPCO Biologists request that you record the following information: color and number of the tag, location of the catch (as accurately as possible), date and time of catch, and the length of the fish from the tip
