Commended Students do not continue in the Merit competition, but this recognition increases their opportunities for entrance into colleges and for financial aid for continuing education.
Bridge Club
Mrs. Earl Edmonds entertained members of the Flint Hill Bridge Club at her home in Huntly, Monday evening.
Those winning prizes were Mrs. Emory Russell, Mrs. James Massie, Mrs. Thomas Eastham, and Mrs. James R. Latham.
Other guests playing were Mrs. B. J. Wood, Mrs. L. B. Burford, Mrs. John S. Browning, Mrs. W. A. Moore, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Mrs. Willis Dearing, and Mrs. Thomas Massie.
Bake Sale

The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will have their annual baked goods, cider, apples, and canned goods sale on the corner of the Episcopal Church Parish Hall parking lot on Oct. 15 and 16, which is the dried flower and house tour weekend. Donations of canned and baked goods are needed and everyone is invited to feel free to donate something. Donations should be on the table in the parking lot at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday or if you have a donation that needs to be picked up, call 675-3608.
