Europe. The group exists for the dual purpose of preserving and perpetuating the Eastern European cultural heritage in the United States and offering scholarship opportunities to deserving students. Hundreds of students have received more than two million dollars in financial aid since 1937. Every summer the Tamburitzans have an annual training camp at Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin, where they spend six weeks producing a new show. They then take it on the road. During a nine month academic season, the Tammies perform about 100 shows across the U.S. and Canada.

After a 1962 European tour, the popularity and prestige of the Tamburitzans skyrocketed. The ensemble grew from 14 to 40 performers today. They were tapped in 1968 to represent the United States as “Goodwill Ambassadors” on a ten-country Latin American tour, where they were a big hit.
