Cockerill

Mrs. Norfa Spraker Cockerill of Herndon died April 20, 1978 at the residence of her daughter Mrs. H. B. Peck. She was born near Wytheville on July 24, 1890. She was the widow of Clarence Conway Cockerill and a member of the Floris United Methodist Church.

Services were held Saturday from the Green Funeral Home in Herndon and interment was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery there. Her eight grandsons acted as pallbearers.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Sarah Latham of Amissville, Mrs. Louise Peck of Spotsylvania, Mrs. Ellen Kephart, Mrs. Catherine Powell and Mrs. Margaret Peck, all of Herndon; two sons, Harold C. and James W. Cockerill, both of Herndon; 19 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Mathena

^miJChe Rev. Roy Mathena, 63, died Sunday in Indiana. He was formerly a pastor at the Baptist Mission at Chester Gap before moving to Browntown, Va.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Browntown Baptist Church and interment will be in Bluewell, W. Va.
