“People need to get off by themselves and find their own unique qualities—who they are that is only them—before it’s possible to get together with others,” Sally maintained. She added that any successful community, whether composed of two or two hundred individuals, requires a constant commitment to communication.
The theme that Sally and her dancers have built ‘‘Gathering Together” around is that people need to see how they fit in with others to make a whole rather than having a preconceived idea of what that whole should be and then trying to mold themselves to fit.
