The Varsity Panthers baseball team soundly defeated the Page Panthers at home on Friday, April 21, with an 11-4 score.
Panther pitcher Gary Leake allowed only four hits through the seven innings he pitched.
Leading scorers for the Panthers drive were Eddie Carroll and Nils Aylor with two runs batter in each and Brooks Miller with three RBI’s. Donnie Compton and Chip Frye also contributed with a run batted in each.
The Junior Varsity baseball team visited Luray on Saturday, April 22, and improved noticeably during the game, only to fall short 5 to 3. Pitcher Gary Jenkins was charged with the loss, even though he threw a one hitter. Luray was able to score mainly through walks and errors.
