Work Funded

The Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation has tentatively allocated $74,024,000 to Culpeper District for construction and improvements on the interstate, arterial, primary and urban road systems for the fiscal year beginning July 1. Included are funds for three projects in Rappahannock County:

—$425,000 for the Washington bypass (west) of Route 211 (supplemental allocation for preliminary engineering and right of way acquisition),

—$30,000 for improvements to Route 231 between Route 522 and the Madison County line (supplemental allocation for construction), —$750,000 for work on Route 211 west of Warrenton in Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties and the town of Warrenton (supplemental allocation for rights of way acquired and construction).
