Two members of the Rappahannock Lions Club were honored at the Lions state convention in Richmond last week.
Bob Ingle, Secretary of the local club, received the coveted “Outstanding Secretary’s Award” and pendant for his service during the past year. And Weiland Johnson, a past president of the local club, beat out all competition to win the trophy for the lowest gross score in the Lions golf tournament.
Also at the state convention, an appeal went out for host families for some of the 100 young people arriving this summer from Europe. Anyone interested in sponsoring a young man or woman from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, or Switzerland, should contact club president Howard Holschuh, at 937-4721. You need not be a member of the Lions Club.
