with the immediate prospect of famine or hunger in the United States today, the reasons for Soil Stewardship commemorative activities hasn’t changed very much, the sponsors believe. We still need to pause each year to express our thanks for the natural resources of soil, water and air which nurture our people and provide us with daily food and fiber necessary to carry on our daily existence.
Soil Stewardship Week has been sponsored in the United States since 1955 by the National Association of Conservation Districts, in cooperation with the nation’s nearly 3,000 Conservation Districts.
