To the editor:
The School Board Meeting Monday night became another in a series of embarrassing moments for the Board. One of the items on the agenda was review of the goals and objectives for the past year.
Let’s take number six for instance. It reads, “School principals shall encourage the active participation of staff, parents and community to improve our school espirit de corps.” This review comes on the heels of our illustrious chairperson giving the edict that any high school student who was not a voting taxpayer could not attend the Board of Supervisors meeting last week that would concern the capital outlay proposal by the School Board for the High School except at the expense of points lost on academic standing.
This was a coming together of the community to discuss a very important matter. What a great time to build espirit de corps in a positive and constructive way.
