Electric
Sunshine Man
Mrs. Judy Bomberger's elementary music classes will present a musical program entitled “The Electric Sunshine Man” on Thursday, May 24. The show will begin at 7:30 in the elementary school auditorium. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
All students who are participating should be at the school no later than 7:15 p.m.
Card Party
The cards will be flying at the Flint Hill Fire Hall this Friday, May 25, at the card party sponsored by the Rappahannock Women’s Club.
Dealing will begin at 7:30 p.m. for rummy, bridge, canasta, poker and other games. Admission is $2 per person. The public is invited but participants must bring their own cards.
Bike-a-thon

Top contenders in the recent bike-a-thon held in Rappahannock for the benefit of St. Jude's Childrens’ Research Hospital were Lavonne Adkins of Washington who received as her prize, dinner for two at the Inn of Little Washington; Devon Suter of Bealeton who was given dinner for two at the Teepee in Sperryville and Ruth Holliday of Bentonville, winner of dinner for two at Bradford’s in Flint Hill.
Proceeds from the venture totaled $1,200 for the worthwhile cause of St. Jude’s with about 36 riders participating. Appreciation was expressed by chairmen of the bike-athon, Janice Moffett and Bill Lynn, for- the many contributions by area merchants and business firms, the Sheriff’s Department, Flint Hill and Washington Rescue Squads, Wakefield Country Day School and the numerous individuals who aided in the bike-a-thon.
