A baking contest, with strawberries as an ingredient, will be held as usual, but with a new wrinkle. Since a man won the contest last year, this year men and women will compete in different categories.
Local artisans will display crafts, a strawberry queen will be crowned, a TV given away and the award winning Free State Ramblers will provide music for dancing.
To reach the festival: Delaplane is located about 50 miles west of Washington, D.C. on Rt. 17 between Rts. 50 and 1-66.
Y ard Sale
Women of Amissville United Methodist Church will hold a yard sale Saturday, May 26 at the lot adjacent to the Village Beauty Salon on Route 211 east of Amissville.
The sale begins at 10 a.m. and will consist of a lot of good things, some new, some used, all saleable. Many bargains available, according to a church spokesperson.
