For Navy OCS
Andy Nichols of Flint Hill has been accepted by the Navy Officers Candidate School at Newport, R. I. and will report there Saturday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nichols and was graduated from Lynchburg College after completing Rappahannock County High School.
He has been employed this summer at the South Wales Swim Club at Jeffersonton was was given a farewell party at the pool by his swim team and the club proprietors, Roger Flinchum and Julian Brown.
Bay Day Set
Virginia joins Maryland for the first time in the tradition of celebrating the Bay. On October 6 in Hampton, Citizens Program for the Chesapeake Bay Inc. plans a Chesapeake Appreciation Day featuring seafood, photography and cooking contests, sailing, Bay crafts, and demonstrations.
