Amissville Cub Scout Pack 50 with family and friends picnicked Saturday on the river at the St. Clair property. In spite of the rain, Scouts enjoying the day were Wayne Dodson, Michael Fontaine, Neil Curtis, Adam Harmes, Sean Wayland, Richie Adams, Warren Ellis and Adam St. Gair. Scout leaders expressed appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. St. Gair for their hospitality. Cubs are reminded their next meeting is set for Tuesday, September 11, at 7:30 at the Amissville United Church social hall. Parents are asked to attend and boys between the ages of 8 and 10 are invited to join the group.
Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Dennis and Mrs. Landra Silvey were in White Post Friday for a family cook-out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Russell. They were joined by Mrs. Thelma Russell of Warrenton, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Biggs of Flint Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson of Luray, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dennis of Jacksonville, N. C. and their families, and Mrs. Goldie Slaughter of Arlington.
Dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Doyle were Mr. and Mrs. Randy Rowzie of Falls Church, Mrs. T. W. Latham of Viewtown and her house guest, Mrs. James Smith of Chevy Chase, Md. who returned home Monday.
C. G. Lawrence accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence and Dean, left Saturday for the University of Kentucky at Richmond where he is enrolled this year. His family returned home Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Priest, Lisa and Robert spent Tuesday sightseeing and visiting in the Charlottesville area. “It)
